- 17 year mean of spatial variance for 20-90 day band passed
zonal wind at ~ 200 hPa computed daily in the region between 5N
and 5S from 0 -> 360. AM1 simulations show a stronger
seasonal cycle than AMIP2 and NCEP with the greatest difference
appearing in the late summer to early fall.
