Abstract: Using a version of the GFDL Climate GCM, the climate sensitivity to solar and greenhouse radiative forcings is investigated. We consider both global and spatially confined perturbations, of the kinds that are now recognized to play an important role in global climate change (IPCC, 1995). We analyze the annual, global-mean and the zonal-mean surface temperature responses, and their dependence on the imposed forcings.
