Summary: A mathematical model of the global atmospheric circulation is constructed. The model is capable of simulating some of the fundamental features of the climate and the hydrological cycle in the earth's atmosphere. The potential usefulness of such a model for the study of hydrology and climatology on a global scale is discussed.
